More than 170 firms joined the UN Global Compact Network USA last year, in what was a ‘milestone year’ for the network, it said in its 2025 Annual Report.
As the US office of the UN Global Compact noted, 2025 marked the hosting of its first ever annual summit, as well as a myriad of other network-building events. As of the end of the year, some 1,130 organisations are now members of the UN Global Compact Network USA.
Practical and focused
“Companies are under pressure to make sustainability more practical, focused, and tied to core business outcomes,” commented Amanda Gardiner, appointed executive director of the network in June 2025.
“Network USA’s role is to help companies of all sizes translate sustainability into decisions that strengthen resilience and competitiveness, through peer learning, actionable guidance, and a strong community. Our work in 2026 will be grounded in what businesses are actually navigating today.”
Across its various programmes, including accelerators, peer learning groups, access to an e-learning platform, targeted convenings, and other resources, more than 650 participants were engaged by UN Global Compact Network USA last year.
The appointment of Gardiner as executive director brings ‘deep industry expertise and a business-first approach’, aimed at guiding the network’s future, it added.
Over the coming year, it plans to engage with firms ‘where they are in their sustainability journey’, as well as convening business leaders and facilitating collaboration across its network, with the aim of supporting implementation and long-term value creation.
‘As US companies reassess how they generate and scale impact, Network USA aims to work alongside them to help translate ambition into measurable outcomes and durable, long-term value’, it said. Read more here.
