Innovation and sustainability are set to take centre stage at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, which returns to Romexpo, Bucharest, from 9-11 April.

Covering some 15,000 square metres, and showcasing high-performance green technologies and solutions from over 500 brands, the event will highlight innovations in areas such as renewable energy, smart waste collection, sorting, and recycling, water and air purification, energy efficiency, digitised public services, and the smart transformation of urban life.

“The adoption of sustainable practices and access to renewable energy sources require a concerted effort from society,” commented Camelia Buda, General Manager of Euroexpo Fairs and organiser of Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec. “That is why we continue our initiative to promote top solutions for public health, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and smart infrastructure development.”

Urban Smart Expo

Among the new highlights of this year’s event is the Urban Smart Expo concept, which will feature an event series organised alongside the Romanian Smart City Association, covering areas such as urban mobility, smart infrastructure, intelligent lighting, connectivity, smart living, security, governance, digital services and urban inclusion.

It will also feature a demonstration zone, featuring prototypes of future technology.

“With the Urban Smart Expo concept, we have created a large-scale platform for the sustainable and digitalised future of Romanian communities,” Buda added. “This is where innovators meet decision-makers to improve quality of life.”

Green Energy Expo

One of the key pillars of the event, the Green Energy Expo will focus on solar energy and other renewable technologies, showcasing solar modules (PV), inverters, batteries, storage systems, e-mobility solutions, and energy efficiency innovations, alongside wind, geothermal, bioenergy, and hydrogen technologies.

A highlight of the Green Energy Expo will be the ‘Energy Day’ on 10 April, which will feature a conference series organised alongside Energynomics, covering critical topics such as energy pricing, electric mobility, energy storage, and sustainable energy solutions.

Romenvirotec

Meanwhile, Romenvirotec, which is dedicated to environmental protection, will showcase present cutting-edge solutions for waste collection, sorting, and recycling, along with innovations in water management, laboratory analysis, sewage systems, and wastewater treatment.

Events taking place as part of Romenvirotec will include the International Forum on Environment and Energy, featuring government representatives from the Ministries of Economy, Environment, and Energy; the International Conference on Water and Wastewater Challenges in Romania, with workshops and roundtables led by APPFE and FADIDA; a meeting of the ISWA (International Solid Waste Association); and the National Sanitation Conference, hosted by the Romanian Association for Waste Management and Sanitation.
