Energy transition firm Pinergy has announced plans to install more than 40MWp of commercial solar projects across Ireland over the next three years, and has appointed a new head of commercial development, Philip Connor (pictured), to oversee this expansion.
In a statement, Pinergy said that the acceleration of its commercial solar division underscores its ‘deep commitment to empowering Irish businesses to significantly reduce energy costs, enhance sustainability, and unlock new revenue streams’, adding that the move will also strengthen Ireland’s energy security.
Over the past ten years, Pinergy’s commercial solar division has installed more than 60MWp of solar and 1MWh of commercial battery technology across Ireland.
‘Comprehensive integrated energy offering’
“The Irish commercial solar market is evolving at pace, and my clear ambition is to position Pinergy as the leading commercial solar provider in Ireland,” Connor commented. “We aim to be recognised not just for our installation capability, but for our unparalleled lifecycle performance, asset reliability, and our comprehensive integrated energy offering over the long term.”
Recent commercial solar projects delivered by Pinergy include Monart Hotel & Spa, Keoghs Crisps and Fitzpatrick Motors in Kildare.
‘Unlock new opportunities’
Sojitz Corporation took a majority stake in the Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford-based business in December 2024, with Daire Keating, chief commercial officer, noting that the move has helped “unlock new opportunities” for Pinergy.
“In light of ongoing global energy volatility, our solar team sits at the very heart of our Energy Services proposition, providing critical stability and cost control for Irish businesses,” he said. “We are setting our sights on leading Ireland’s commercial solar and battery sector, shaping the future of how businesses generate, store, and use energy.”
In addition to on-site generation, Pinergy provides feed-in tariffs and export payments, allowing businesses to supply surplus electricity back to the grid, while it also operates utility measurement solutions and EV charging. Read more here.
