Athens ESG Forum to focus on how businesses can move ‘From Vision to Action’

The fifth Athens ESG Forum, set to take place on 26 June at the Divani Caravel Hotel, Athens, will feature the theme From Vision to Action: Creating Value and Driving Impact.

The country’s leading platform for ESG dialogue and transformation will unite key stakeholders from government, business, academia, and civil society to drive forward actionable ESG strategies in Greece and beyond.

This year’s Forum will opens with a high-profile political debate featuring parliamentarians from across the political spectrum, followed by one of the most anticipated moments of this year’s event: a virtual debate on the Omnibus framework, titled Omnibus: A Step Back or a Step Forward?.

This timely session will examine the evolving role of consolidated regulatory reforms in ESG implementation and whether they truly advance sustainable development or risk diluting standards.

The role of ‘AIABILITY’

Another major highlight of the programme is a panel discussion on ‘AIABILITY’, where participants will explore how artificial intelligence intersects with sustainability and corporate leadership.

As part of this discussion, Professor Djordjija Petkoski, lecturer in Corporate Responsibility and Ethics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, will bring a global perspective on leadership in the sustainability era. Professor Petkoski’s work with multinational organisations and governments positions him as a leading voice on responsible innovation and ethical strategy, and his contribution is expected to energise the conversation around ESG leadership in the digital age.

Thought leadership

Throughout the day, the Forum will feature virtual and in-person sessions with internationally-recognised thought leaders such as Sasja Beslik (SDG Impact Japan) and Professor Ioannis Ioannou (London Business School), alongside prominent Greek institutional, academic, and business figures.

Elsewhere, a series of parallel workshops and masterclasses will offer hands-on guidance in ESG reporting, gender-inclusive strategies, human rights in supply chains, just climate finance, and responsible corporate communication.

The Forum will close with a strong call to action for a just transition, reflecting its mission not just to discuss but to inspire lasting impact.
