Following last year’s sold out event, Environment Ireland‘s annual ESG Forum is set to take place at the Talbot Hotel in Stillorgan, Dublin, on 27 February, bringing together more than 200 industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to address the current challenges facing organisations and their ESG strategies.

The 2025 ESG Forum will welcome both international and local expert speakers. who will explore the future outlook for ESG for both public and private sectors.

ESG cuts across many organisational areas and presents complex challenges including reporting, capturing data and creating good governance. In an ever evolving landscape, the need to move from theory to action is now essential when considering external factors such as environmental and social impacts. Measuring and responding to these impacts has become a necessity as is having a strong governance framework in place to embed the best social and environmental practices.

This year’s ESG Forum will centre on a number of key themes, including the implications of EU legislation, effective ESG reporting practices, and the application of double materiality principles. The event will also explore the EU taxonomy, sustainable finance and green investment opportunities, and strategies for tackling greenwashing.

Social considerations, such as addressing inequality, improving labour relations, and fostering inclusiveness, will also feature, while significant emphasis will be placed on creating robust governance frameworks to mitigate climate and ESG-related risks, as well as the importance of building strong data foundations for ESG measurement.

The esteemed lineup of speakers will include Nessa Whelan, Country Manager, UN Global Compact; Mona Costelloe, Partner at Byrne Wallace Shields LLP; Patrick Paul Walsh, Vice President of Education and Director of the SDG Academy at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network; Robert Adamczyk, Board Member, Responsible Business Forum Poland; Simona Herbaj, ESG Consultant, nucleo; Orla Coyle, Head of Energy and Sustainability Ireland at Savills; Susan Rossney, Sustainability Advocacy Manager, Chartered Accountants Ireland; Louise Gorman, Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin; Lisa-Nicole Dunne, Chief Executive Officer, Mantra Strategy; Meaghan Carmody, Senior Sustainability Adviser, Business in the Community Ireland; and Kevin O’Sullivan, Environment and Science Editor at The Irish Times.
