Ibiza nightclub Pacha commits to 100% renewable, zero-emission energy

Pacha Ibiza has announced that it is now powered by 100% renewable, zero-emission energy, in what it says 'sets a new benchmark for sustainable nightlife'.

Pacha Ibiza has announced that it is now powered by 100% renewable, zero-emission energy, in what it says ‘sets a new benchmark for sustainable nightlife’.

By relying on clean energy, the nightclub said that it is generating carbon savings equivalent to preserving 1.2 million square meters of the Amazon rainforest, while it has also eliminated the use of single-use plastics across the venue.

‘Positive impact’

Elsewhere, Pacha Ibiza has also reduced energy, water and carbon emissions as part of its ongoing sustainability efforts.

LEED certification

The Ibiza nightclub said that it is working toward achieving LEED Gold or Higher certification, with an applied scorecard of 84 points to the US Green Building Council.

Buildings with LEED certification typically use 25% less energy, 11% less water, and produce 34% fewer carbon emissions compared to standard buildings. Pacha Ibiza has submitted an applied scorecard targeting 84 points toward this certification.

Pacha Ibiza, which has been part of Ibiza nightlife for more than 50 years, is part of The Pacha Group, a global lifestyle brand with interests in music, hospitality, and entertainment. The group’s Pacha Hotel and Destino Five Ibiza also operate fully on green power. Elsewhere, the group has implemented a number of water conservation initiatives, and sources local produce through the Balearic 0KM programme;
