BNP Paribas Asset Management has announced the launch of its Global Sustainability Strategy for 2026 to 2030, with which it will seek to ‘strengthen long-term portfolio resilience and create value for clients’.
Announcing the strategy, Europe’s third-largest asset manager by assets under management said that it will use its global scale to address systemic risks, capture investment opportunities and support the real economy.
The strategy identifies four megatrends – environment, innovation, demographics and geopolitics – which will be used to guide the assessment of emerging risks and opportunities. In addition, six core pillars will embed sustainability across investment research, due diligence, stewardship and governance.
The core priorities outlined in the strategy include commitments to forward-looking thematic research; client-focused solutions; robust ESG integration; coordinated, in-depth stewardship; clear exclusion standards; and cultivating a culture of execution, education and engagement.
‘A key enabler’
“Sustainability is a key enabler of our strategy and investment philosophy,” commented Jane Ambachtsheer, chief sustainability officer at BNPP AM. “It helps us understand risk, identify opportunity and build resilient portfolios for clients over the long term.
“Looking to 2030, we will deepen our insight into systemic risks, strengthen stewardship and expand our capabilities across listed and alternative assets. Just as importantly, we will embed sustainability in our culture and day-to-day decisions, matching action with ambition and supporting the communities in which we operate through volunteering and partnerships.”
The group added that the strategy will help to deepen BNPP AM’s analysis of systemic risks, strengthen engagement with issuers and policymakers, and expand its investment capabilities across both listed and alternative assets.
