Singapore-based filtration company Filtrona has reported a 51% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, in line with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated targets, in its 2025 sustainability report.
In its report, titled Advancing Sustainable Performance, Filtrona said that 2025 marked a ‘decisive turning point’ in its sustainability journey, as it moved from commitment to execution.
‘Important step forward’
“2025 marks an important step forward for Filtrona as we move from setting ambition to delivering measurable impact”, commented Robert Pye, CEO of Filtrona.
“Our progress this year reflects disciplined execution across the business, from strengthening responsible sourcing, governance, and workforce capability, to embedding ESG into how we operate every day. While the sustainability transition is complex and ongoing, we remain focused on ensuring it creates long-term value for our customers, our people, and the communities we are part of”.
Among the milestones reported by the company include achieving zero waste to landfill across all sites, and sourcing 88% of its wood-based materials from certified or controlled sources, including FSC and PEFC-certified materials.
In addition, around a quarter (24%) of the firm’s product portfolio is now derived from sustainable or plastic-free solutions.
In terms of social sustainability, Filtrona said that as of last year, women accounted for 29% of leadership and management positions across the business, a percentage that continues to increase, while 95% of employees completed mandatory compliance training, ensuring a consistent global standard of governance and accountability.
External recognition
Filtrona’s progress has also been recognised externally, with the company maintaining its SBTi validation for its emissions reduction targets in 2025, and earning EcoVadis Gold status, placing it within the top 5% of companies assessed globally. It also received a B rating from CDP across Climate, Forests and Water Security disclosures.
Additional developments included the granting of ISO14068-1 carbon neutrality certification for the company’s Surabaya site.
Filtrona added that 2025 marks a ‘clear turning point, where sustainability is no longer defined by ambition alone, but by disciplined execution and measurable impact across environmental, social, and governance priorities’.
