The inaugural Sustainability in the Built Environment Ireland Summit, hosted by the Business Post, takes place on 17 June at Croke Park, Dublin.
The summit comes as the retrofit of Ireland’s commercial, residential, and public sector buildings gains pace, as the country seeks to reach its 2030 and 2050 national and international decarbonisation targets.
The construction sector and the built environment are directly responsible for 37% of Ireland’s emissions – the equivalent of the agriculture industry. This is made up of operational emissions associated with the energy used to heat, cool, and light our buildings and embodied carbon emissions.
At the same time, buildings are a crucial area of opportunity when it comes to environmental and social sustainability. From innovative materials and energy-efficient design to smart technologies and policy shifts, the solutions are within our reach. But achieving net zero in the built environment requires collaboration, bold action, and a shared commitment to change.
The Business Post Sustainability in the Built Environment Summit will bring together leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore innovative strategies for reducing the carbon footprint of Ireland’s built environment.
It will showcase strategies and solutions for scaling up building decarbonisation, innovation, policy, technology, best practices, and the challenges and opportunities ahead to drive meaningful progress. Read on for details on how to avail of discounted tickets.
