NCC, one of the largest construction firms in the Nordic region, has updated its climate targets, with the company aiming for net zero emissions by 2045.
In its Annual and Sustainability Report for 2025, NCC said that it is on track to reduce its emissions (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) by 42% by 2030.
It has already achieved a 39% reduction in emissions from its own operations (Scope 1 and 2), it said, while value chain emissions (Scope 3) have decreased by 10% since the base year 2024, with the addition of reference values for 2020.
Sales performance
The company reported sales of approximately SEK 56 billion last year, it said in a statement. Operating profit stood at SEK 1,938 million, while earnings per share amounted to SEK 14.
As it noted, four out of the company’s five business areas improved their earnings last year, while an impairment loss in the final quarter was linked to revised property value assessments. Overall order intake was lower, however the number of early-stage partnering projects ‘increased sharply’, it noted.
‘Strong foundation’
“2025 was a year dominated by strong underlying profitability, strategic decisions and continued progress toward a more focused NCC,” commented Tomas Carlsson, president and CEO of NCC. “A strong foundation and clear direction provide a solid basis for profitable growth going forward.”
NCC’s operations include building and infrastructure project contracting, asphalt and stone materials production, and commercial property development. Read more here.
