Radisson Hotel Group has published its 2025 Responsible Business Report, which outlines how the hotel group is turning its net-zero transformation into ‘real, measurable progress across its hotels and operations’.
The group said that it remains committed to achieving net zero by 2050, with sustainability shaping its long-term planning with regard to regulatory changes, climate considerations, and evolving customer expectations.
‘The group focuses on strengthening the long-term competitiveness of its hotels and owners through sustainability and contributes to the transition toward a low-carbon hospitality sector,’ it said in a statement.
In line with its five-year sustainability plan, this is being implemented across the group in areas such as energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy use, and resource management.
Verified Net Zero Hotels
A key milestone announced last year was the launch of the group’s Verified Net Zero Hotels initiative, which established a scalable model for reducing emissions across both existing and new properties. Its first Verified Net Zero Hotels opened in Manchester City Centre (pictured) and Oslo City Centre last year.
‘These projects demonstrate that meaningful decarbonisation can be achieved within operational hotel environments,’ it added.

Key pillars
The report is structured around three pillars – people, community, and environmental impact – under the banners of Think People, Think Community, and Think Planet.
With regard to the first of these, Radisson reported a 84% team member engagement score, outperforming the industry average by 18%, while its Radisson Academy has delivered more than 8.5 million hours of learning.
In terms of community, meanwhile, the group has increased financial contributions and volunteer activity across its network, with its partnership with Just a Drop helping to provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene access to more than 34,000 people.
As regards environmental performance, Radisson has reported a 23% reduction in emissions intensity per square metre compared with a 2019 baseline, alongside a decrease in total Scope 1 and 2 emissions, despite the expansion of its hotel portfolio. Some 78 of the hotels in its network are operating on 100% renewable electricity.
‘A more resilient hospitality sector’
“Our journey toward net zero and responsible hospitality is a collective effort,” commented CEO Federico J Gonzalez. “We invite our owners, partners, and guests to join us in shaping a future where every stay contributes to a sustainable planet, stronger communities, and a more resilient hospitality sector.
“Together, we can lead the way toward an industry that creates lasting value for people and the planet.” Read more here.
