Position Green has announced the acquisition of Morescope, a Norwegian carbon management platform.
Position Green, which specialises in ESG software and advisory services, said in a statement that the acquisition will create ‘a one stop shop combining best-in-class carbon tech with strategic expertise and tools to manage risk, compliance and climate challenges’.
Morescope will operate as a standalone brand within Position Green, focusing on carbon technology and accelerating product innovation while tapping into Position Green’s infrastructure and client network.
In addition, Morescope’s investors, including the Norwegian sovereign climate investment company Nysnø Climate Investments, SINTEF Venture, and EV Private Equity, will become shareholders in Position Green.
‘Insight and responsibility’
“Position Green’s platform already tracks over 3 billion tonnes of CO₂ which is more than the total annual emissions of all EU countries combined,” commented Daniel Gadd, CEO of Position Green. “That scale gives us both insight and responsibility.
“With Morescope on board, we’re focused on turning that data into real reductions. The acquisition marks a major step forward for Position Green and directly supports our mission to help customers tackle their most pressing climate challenges and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.”
The acquisition comes at a time of heightened consolidation in the ESG software space, with both Position Green and Morescope stating that they share a vision of delivering measurable sustainability outcomes through high-quality technology and domain expertise.
