BASF invests in new Climate Center in Germany

BASF Agricultural Solutions is investing a low double-digit million-euro amount in a new Climate Center at its headquarters in Limburgerhof, Germany (pictured). The facility will support controlled ecotoxicology studies used in the registration of crop protection products and is intended to respond to increasing regulatory and research requirements. Construction has started, with completion scheduled for the first half of 2027.

H2O Innovation reports 62.3bn gallons of wastewater treated

H2O Innovation has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, reporting that its operations treated 62.3 billion gallons of wastewater during the year. The company says the report provides an overview of its environmental, social and governance activities and performance. The wastewater figure provides a measurable indication of the environmental services delivered through the company’s operations during the reporting period.

Exelon adds two companies to climate investment portfolio

The Exelon Foundation has added Public Grid and Buckstop to its Climate Change Investment Initiative portfolio. The initiative supports ‘solutions that improve affordability, make better use of resources and contribute to a more reliable and sustainable energy future’, Exelon said in a statement. The additions expand the portfolio of companies receiving investment through the programme and reflect continued corporate and philanthropic investment in technologies and businesses focused on energy and climate solutions.

Bharti Hexacom files FY2025-26 sustainability report

Indian telecommunications company Bharti Hexacom has filed its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report for financial year 2025-26, alongside its annual reporting materials. The company’s website lists the BRSR and an independent assurance statement covering sustainability disclosures for the financial year. The filing provides the company’s latest sustainability information under India’s corporate reporting requirements.

NFFN calls for ‘rethink’ on how UK farmland is managed

The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) is calling for a fundamental rethink of how farmland is managed in the UK as farmers face increasingly severe floods, droughts and heatwaves. It identifies water management as a priority, with farmers encouraged to improve soil health to retain rainfall and increase the use of ponds and reservoirs to store water during dry periods. The NFFN is also calling for greater financial support for water infrastructure and simpler planning processes for projects with environmental benefits. The organisation says 2026 is set to produce the UK’s worst arable harvest on record, with four of the five poorest harvests occurring during the past decade, according to the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit.

Solarvest publishes 2026 Sustainability Statement

Malaysian clean-energy company Solarvest has published its 2026 Sustainability Statement, covering its sustainability performance and activities during its 2026 financial year. The company says the report aligns its disclosures with IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, expands Scope 3 emissions reporting from three to eight categories and introduces a medium-term 2040 decarbonisation target alongside its existing 2030 and 2050 ambitions.
